Cycling Tour in Slovenia

Tour Overview
Cycling in Slovenia is a must do for every avid cyclist who loves the outdoors and we think our 13 night | 14 day tour starting in Skofja Loka and finishing in Llubljana ticks most of the boxes.
Slovenia is squeezed between Austria, Hungary, Italy and Croatia and you get the best from all of these amazing locations in one package — mountains over 2,000 metres, streams, lakes, rivers and the sparkling Adriatic Sea.
Two thirds of the country is covered by forest and hosts about 600 wild bears, 15 - 20 wolf packs and the endangered European lynx has establishing itself in the region. Nature plays a crucial role in the lives of Slovenes so if you’re looking for a cycling trip away from the hustle and bustle of the high tourism locations, you will be sure to love this tour.
With the help of our local team you are ensured an authentic experience on roads less travelled, dining in less touristy restaurants serving fresh, local cuisine and wines from the region then sleeping in beautiful accommodation venues chosen for their amazing locations and bike friendly facilities.
With no transfer days you ride from hotel to hotel. You unpack for multiple night stays, enjoy a rest day in Bled and Bovec with a river rafting experience in Bovec, a tour of Postojna Caves. Enjoying challenging yet manageable rides and knock out scenery from point to point, we look forwarding to hosting you on this amazing tour.
An ancient Japanese temple with a group of people standing in front dressed in Velo Tours Australia cycling kit and Velo Tours Australia t-shirts
Our 2026 visit to Zenkoji Temple, founded in 642 AD. On this special experience we ventured inside for a "Cleansing Ceremony" in the Dark Tunnel, a calligraphy class where we made our own ink and learned to copy Buddhist sutra text followed by a private prayer ceremony. A truly special morning experiencing some ancient Japanese culture. We then rode to Hakuba while the non-riders went sake tasting!
