AMAZING TEAM | OWNEr/operated
ABOUT US & OUR PARTNERS
Our reviews say a lot about the kind of experience we provide and the fun you'll have on one of our tours.
We are a small Australian based, family operated business personally invested in making sure your holiday is the best time you can have away with your bike. We dont employ dozens of people we don't know to be the face of our company. We have a small number of trusted family members and friends we bring with us each year to help create a holiday of a lifetime for you - our valued guest. We don't run 10 tours at a time in 10 countries across the world all year round. We take between 6 - 16 people at a time to selected regions across Europe, America and Australia and we oversee every element of your trip. All you need to bring is your riding legs, your lunch money and some coin for drinks at dinner. Many people forget to read the fine print of what's actually included in the package before booking a trip. What's thought to be a given often isn't, which is what makes us such good value for money. We leave nothing to chance so you really do get the ultimate cycling experience of a lifetime.

THE VELO TOURS FAMILY AND CREW
kerry stubbs
Co-Owner | Tour Leader | Planning & Operations
Kerry Stubbs found a passion for cycling at an early age, riding his bike around the streets of his home town growing up. Kerry's skills in event management go back to the mid eighties, first competing in and then setting up a business running cycling and triathlon events across Australia. Kerry also became involved in the sports travel industry, taking teams and groups to all corners of the globe for world championship events and to Kona. Since launching Velo Tours in 2010, Kerry now spends his time in both Europe and Australia with his wife Kim, putting together new tours for passionate cylists wanting to holiday in amazing places with their bikes.
kim stubbs
Co-Owner | Admin & Soigneur | Operations & Logistics
Kim has been project managing within the sports industry since 2006 and coordinating tours both overseas and in Australia since launching Velo Tours with her husband Kerry in 2010. Her sporting background and management roles in operations, logistics and hospitality have given her the skills required to put together and host major tours globally with no small detail overlooked. This dynamic husband and wife team provides guests with a true "family road trip" type experience that has people coming back again and again. Kim is also our on course photographer; her snap shots feature on the website and daily Facebook updates which are then sent to our guests to keep.
henk vogels
Velo Tours Ambassador | All Round Great Guy!
Ambassador for Velo Tours since 2016, Henk's knowledge of cycling on a grand tour level makes him an invaluable presence on our tours. Turning pro at the age of 21, Henk competed in 2 Tours of France, 2 Tours of Italy and 2 Tours of Spain. Henk also competed in eight World Championships, podiumed in some of the Spring Classics and finished top ten in the gruelling Paris-Roubaix.
Tim Stubbs
Tour Guide | Travel Logistics
Gordie Stubbs
Support Van | House Coordinator
tim & gordie stubbs
Our second husband and wife duo are Kerry's brother Tim and his wife Gordie who reside in Perth, WA when not travelling the world as part of our crew. Tim's strengths both on the bike as a guide and behind the wheel of a bus, truck or van are invaluable and when the two Stubbs brothers are together on a bike, everything is a competition! Gordie's strengths are definitely not in the directional department as she gets lost as least once every year but her warm and outgoing personality while looking after you from the support van will have you falling in love with her within minutes of your arrival!
our SUPPORT CREW
Each of our domestiques has a long history in the cycling industry and is a valued member of our the Velo Tours family. Some of our crew specalise on our European tours while others look after our domestic clientelle - some do both! Each of them are the reason why our customers have such a great time on tour and continue to come back to us again and again.
Blair Austin raced with the local team in Tasmania before it folded a few years back and was often seen on the Tasmanian crit circuit. Blair is now a full time sports physiologist at SPR Conditioning and did much of his practical training with TIS.
Pete Dikschei was a career police officer who, since retiring, racks up annual rides in excess of 20,000km from his home in Corryong. As a member of the 6AMers cycling club, Pete still races in the Tour of Bright, Tour of Mansfield and the Grafton-Inverell Classic.
Brad Fogg another 6AMer, races masters in Melbourne at Sandown and Kew Boulevard, has competed in 5 Tours of Bright, the Tours of East Gippsland & Mansfield and the Baw Baw Classic. Does know his way around a bike by the way ...
Mark Matthews owns a world renowned jewellery business in Tasmania and is the person responsible for the map of Tasmania you see swinging from Richie Porte's jersey. Mark raced at an elite level in triathlon and cycling for at least 15 years, is a finisher at Kona and still races Ironman today.

Andrew McPhan is a seasoned Ironman triathlete and all round cyclist having also raced Grafton-Inverell Classic and the local Gold Coast World's races over the past 15 years. Andrew is often seen going back and forth to check on our back markers after the rest of the group have made it home to the creek!
Scotty Russell is a lifetime friend of Kerry's who still races mountain bikes though not so much the road bikes anymore. Scott puts most of the local bunch in Tassie into the hurt locker on the daily rides and his knowledge of bikes means he can pretty much repair anything out on the road.
David Chaplin is another Tasmanian (we breed 'em tough down there) who rides in the local bunch with Scotty, and Kerry when in Tassie. Dave is one of the lead bunch finishers and is perhaps Scotty's main competition if Scott's been doing too much secret training. Dave is a great guy with a big engine. David Barber is another former Kona finisher and winner of the prestigious Cunningham Classic in Queensland. He's raced the Grafton Inverell Classic 5 times and rode 3 Peaks in under 8.5 hrs. Kerry and Kim are blessed to be godparents to Dave's twin girls. Nicole Thompson is Kim's daughter and manages a busy cafe on the Gold Coast while working a second job at a sports centre. You will see Nik in the support van, yelling out encouragement, filling up your water bottles for you or taking your photo as you ride past. CJ Kimmet works in a sales position during the day and is deeply involved in the fitness industry and local wrestling association in his spare time. Of Scottish heritage CJ is a fierce Geelong supporter with a great sense of humour who will look after you well on your trip.
