This premium cycling tour of northern Italy is a 5 star experience on your bike. Not only is it a riding experience of a lifetime but also one for the culinary senses as well. We put as much effort into sourcing the best hotel and dining experiences available per TripAdvisor rankings as we do the best riding in each region which is why this tour is not ony for the discerning rider wanting a complete cultural experience with a great group of people sharing every amazing moment with you but for partners as well.
This tour will test any accomplished cyclist as you challenge yourself on some of the most famous climbs in world cycling, including the legendary Passo dello Stelvio, the brutal Mortirolo and the bella of the Dolomites, Passo del Gardena. With minimal time in the van you will ride most of the way with van support at all times.
Featuring stop overs of between 2 and 4 nights on Lake Garda, Corvara, Bormio and Lake Como, staying in beautiful 3 and 4 star hotels and chalets in prime locations and between 2, 3 and 5 course meals in great restaurants every night, plus a 5 course Ladin farm experience in Badia, this tour ticks all the boxes for both cyclists and non cycling partners.
With places limited to 16 riders to ensure that small group experience we look forward to taking care of you on your tour to Italy and making this a truly memorable cycling experience. Please note the difficulty rating of this trip at the top of the page. The average coffee rider who doesn't put in the training required will struggle with the daily metres gained and time on the bike across this 14 day cycling extravaganza! You will need to be fit and able to climb at a minimum average of 7-8 kph.

client review
The Grande Italia tour was truly amazing. The hotels were chosen specifically for cyclists, the restaurants were all hand picked, the food authentic and delicious.
The Velo team were absolute professionals, catering for a range of abilities and were great companions. The tour was as challenging as you wanted to make it or as relaxed if that is what you preferred. The rides were epic. Stelvio, Giau, Motorolo, we always felt safe and sound even on 18% gradients. All of our group just gelled and we still stay in contract. I cannot speak highly enough of the tour. We will be back to ride France with Kerry and Kim, hopefully soon.

- The 2019 Grande Italia tour was spectacular, jaw dropping scenery, epic climbs, food, wine, great company and loads of laughs... I would go again in a heart beat. Thank you guys for another amazing holiday.★★★★★Diane W, Launceston, TASThis was a bucket list thing and a real highlight for me. Finishing the tour with lakeside accommodation on Lake Como was a stroke of genius. Awesome rides, great accomodation, delightful food and so much fun! Highly recommended!★★★★★Mike P, Hove, SAThis was physically one of the hardest things that I’ve ever done, but will be back for more. I’ve made some lasting friendships. The hotels and dinners were all brilliant - definitely a must-do for anyone who wants a challenge!★★★★★Nicky W, Burnie, TAS
